全美台聯推動全方位草根外交


全美台灣同鄉聯誼會為推展全方位草根外交,特與西雅圖貝爾優市購物中心在貝爾優購物中心聯合舉辦農曆新年慶會活動。今年大規模的新年慶會將於二月二十三日隆重登場。慶祝活動將包括傳統和現代的武術,音樂,舞蹈,視覺藝術。節日包括傳統的舞獅和舞龍遊行,武當國際武術學院的武術表演,台灣傳統民間藝術團,台灣的創意剪紙與中國結藝術家。新春慶會除了致力宣揚中華文化精髓外,還促進台美之間文化交流,增進美國人民對台灣的了解。

BELLEVUE, Wash. (February 8, 2013) – The Bellevue Collection and The Taiwan Benevolent Association of America welcomes in the 2013 Lunar New Year, sharing in the cultural heritage of our community. The exciting all day event (11:00 am – 6:00 pm) will be held on February 23, 2013 at Bellevue Square in Center Court.  

New this year is the Lunar New Year Kids’ Passport, running Feb. 11th – 24th.  Find the Lunar New Year display items provided by the Wing Luke Museum at participating children’s stores throughout Bellevue Square, and have your Passport card stamped by participating locations, DOOZ A Salon for Kidz, Gymboree Play & Music, Peek, PinkaBella Cupcakes and Marbles: The Brain Store.  After receiving a stamp from each participating store, submit passport to Bellevue Square Guest Services to Enter-to-Win for a $200 Bellevue Collection Gift Certificate and two Wing Luke Museum Experience Passes.

The Lunar New Year celebration features numerous traditional and contemporary cultural demonstrations including martial arts, music, dance, and visual arts (see event calendar below for full details). The festival is open to audiences of all ages and includes complementary fun activities for all to participate in. 

Other new additions for 2013 include martial arts demonstrations from the Wudang International Martial Arts Academy, Guanjiang Shou by Taiwan Traditional Folk Performing Troupe, and the creative Chinese paper-cutting & knotting artists.  

The highlight of the afternoon is sure to be the “New Year Spectaculars” from 2:00 pm – 3:00 p.m.  The “Spectaculars” will showcase an exciting demonstration and an integral part of the Chinese culture, the traditional lion dance and dragon parade; a symbol of strength and good luck to the community.
